Welcome to Lorraine's gentle yoga! We are an online yoga studio offering classes specifically tailored to seniors. Our classes are designed to help seniors maintain their mobility and flexibility, improve their balance, and provide an overall sense of well-being.

Our classes are led by Lorraine, an experienced yoga instructor with an extensive background in teaching seniors. Lorraine is passionate about helping her students stay active and maintain their independence. She creates yoga classes that are both challenging and enjoyable while ensuring that they are safe and accessible to all levels of physical capacity.

 

At Lorraine's gentle yoga, we understand that as we age, our bodies and needs change. Our classes are tailored to meet our student's needs and provide them with a supportive and safe environment to practice. We offer a range of classes including gentle stretching, strengthening, and relaxation techniques, as well as specialized classes such as chair yoga and restorative yoga.

We strive to provide our students with an environment that is welcoming and supportive. Our classes are designed to help our students feel empowered and improve their overall sense of well-being. We hope to help our students stay active and engaged in their own physical and mental health.

Growing up on a farm in the Pembina Valley near Pilot Mound, I was always running, biking, swimming, milking cows & helping with harvesting, haying & seeding.

 

I still love being outdoors walking my dog Sadie, gardening, mowing the grass in the summer and travelling to Raleigh, NC for winters where my son, daughter-in-law & granddaughter live. I believe being active and practicing Yin Yoga will prevent the deterioration of my joints so I can keep doing the things I love. 

Lorraine was first certified by the Manitoba Fitness Council in 1992 and has been teaching yoga since 2021.

Cherise Dacquay Chudobiak
Certified Yoga Instructor

Cherise began the self-practice of Yoga in 2008 and embarked on sharing her passion with others by leading yoga classes in 2009. In June 2021 she completed her Registered Yoga Teacher training in the Empowerment Project which focuses on the exploration of living yoga and its practices. She is also a Manitoba Fitness Council certified group, yoga fitness, Pilates and Active Older Adult fitness instructor.

Ruth Reis
Certified Yoga Instructor

Ruth Reis has over 30 years of teaching experience in the wellness industry, specializing in Yoga, Group Fitness, and Adult Classes.  Certified by Manitoba Fitness Council, she has taught various classes for public and private industry throughout the province and has her own yoga studio in the St James area of Winnipeg. Along with fitness, Ruth received her 3rd Dan in Taekwondo through the World Taekwondo Federation. Ruth is a dedicated lifelong health & fitness advocate, learner, and professional.

Doreen Wuckert
Certified Yoga Instructor

Doreen has been practicing yoga for over 30 years. Her studies & courses are based on Iyengar-style yoga. Besides Iyengar, she teaches Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Chair Yoga & Restorative. She has yoga certificates from Yoga Studios, Toronto, & Manitoba Fitness Council & has taken some instructor training at the Yoga Center in Winnipeg. Her practice begins & ends with relaxation & meditation. She continues to take yoga courses and workshops to deepen her knowledge of not only the poses and philosophy of yoga but also to know the muscles, ligaments & tendons in order to prevent injury.

Doreen continues to teach yoga because yoga is a healing practice for others & for herself. She enjoys seeing people leave her classes relaxed, calm & content.
